On Saturday, August 22, 2026, the San Antonio (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, in collaboration with the Good Health WINs San Antonio Coalition and community partners, will lead a coordinated day of service focused on health, nutrition, hydration, civic engagement, and back-to-school support.

Through Vaccines • Veggies • Votes | Hydration Day, volunteers and community partners will serve residents and families at three locations across San Antonio, with an anticipated community reach of approximately 800 people.

Helping residents stay hydrated and providing bottled water throughout our community events.

🥕 NUTRITION & FOOD SECURITY

Connecting families with fresh food, healthy choices, nutrition education, and community food resources.

❤️ HEALTH & WELLNESS

Providing health education, wellness resources, and information that empowers residents to make informed decisions about their health.

💉 VACCINE AWARENESS

Sharing trusted immunization information and helping community members better understand available health resources.

🗳️ CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

Providing nonpartisan voter registration information and encouraging informed community participation.

🎓 YOUTH, FAMILY & COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Connecting families with educational, veteran, youth, and other community-based resources.

8:00 AM – 11:00 AM


This location will focus on serving our senior community through:

  • Hydration and healthy snack distribution
  • Health and wellness outreach
  • Immunization information
  • Nonpartisan voter registration and civic engagement
  • Community resource information

Estimated Community Reach: 100 residents

Back-to-School Farmers Market | Hydration Day


Community Service Hours:
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM


Gardopia Gardens will serve as the central hub for the August 22 mission and the primary receiving and distribution point for San Antonio Food Bank resources.


Activities and services will include:

  • Food distribution
  • Hydration
  • Nutrition and food-security resources
  • Health and wellness education
  • Vaccine awareness and education
  • Community engagement
  • Veteran resources
  • Youth and educational resources
  • Nonpartisan civic engagement

Estimated Community Reach: 400 people

Volunteer Note: Setup and San Antonio Food Bank receiving teams begin at 7:00 AM.

Harvesting Success: Back-to-School Bash at the Farm

Community Service Hours: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM


Good Health WINs San Antonio will participate as a community partner at the Back-to-School Bash, providing services and resources including:

  • Hydration Stations
  • Health and wellness education
  • Vaccine awareness
  • Nutrition education
  • Community resource engagement
  • Civic engagement
  • Veteran-support resources

Estimated Community Reach: 300 people

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Making an impact across three locations in one day takes teamwork — and we need your help.

Volunteers are needed for:

  • Event setup
  • San Antonio Food Bank receiving and distribution
  • Hydration Stations
  • Health & wellness activities
  • Community engagement
  • Veteran services
  • Youth/Kappa League support
  • General event support
  • Breakdown and cleanup

Our Early Team Call is 7:00 AM at Gardopia Gardens, with additional volunteer assignments beginning at 8:00 AM and continuing throughout the day's events.
