The members of the San Antonio (TX) Alumni Chapter are committed to providing scholarships each year.  Providing college scholarships to our youth is a crucial investment in both individual potential and societal progress. These scholarships alleviate the significant financial burden of higher education, making college accessible to talented students who might otherwise be unable to afford it.

Furthermore, supporting youth through scholarships helps cultivate a more educated workforce, drives innovation, reduces socioeconomic disparities, and ultimately contributes to a more prosperous and equitable future for everyone.

The SAAC Scholarship Fund supported by Chapter Events, Businesses owned by Chapter Members, or affiliated San Antonio Kappa Alpha Psi Education Foundation, and individual donors.

The San Antonio Alumni (TX) Alumni Chapter (SAAC) is accepting applications for the George J. Washington Annual Scholarship

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Graduating High School Senior From a San Antonio Metro Area High School
• African American Male
• Anticipated majors: Music, English, History, Education or STEM. (Science, Technology, Engineering,) Mathematics) Preference will be given to Music, English or Education.
• Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average
• Completed SAT or ACT
• Committed to attending an accredited Historically Black College or University (Fall Semester immediately following graduation)

Scholarship Donation

The George J. Washington Memorial Scholarship was initiated in 2019 after Brother Washington transitioned to the chapter invisible in 2018.  With the encouragement and support of his family, the Senior Kappa Affairs Committee of the San Antonio Alumni Chapter undertook the effort to establish the scholarship in his name.
