Volunteer Annual Read Across America Day

Information for Readers

 

Thank your signing up as a volunteer reader! We appreciate your time and commitment to making a difference. We are collaborating with Communities In Schools of San Antonio for this special event.

 

What to Expect Day on Reading Day

  • Sign in at the main office * Make sure you have your current Driver’s License or government issued ID
  • Proceed to the Library / designated area.
  • Sign in for your volunteer time using the QR Code on the tables.
  • Enjoy coffee with the campus administration.
  • After introductory remarks, pick out your book from the designated table.
  • Group photo will be taken of your team of Readers.
  • Readers will be concentrated in one grade level with four rotations per grade level.
  • Please do not take any photos of students as not every student has a media release.

 

Below you will find a sample script to use while you are with students. For each rotation, please introduce yourself to the teacher and students.
